Mattijs is an associate at STIPO and works as an independent urban planner and researcher. He graduated from Delft University of Technology and worked for a long time at the municipality of Rotterdam on various projects in urban planning and area development. At STIPO, Mattijs works in projects on urban development and transformation and translates his knowledge of The City at Eye Level into practice in training courses, workshops and lectures. The complexity of cities is what attracts him: the stratification of the lived city and which development factors influence the city. But he doesn’t have to travel far to discover special places: in his own city of Rotterdam, he is continuously inspired by the city and its users.
