Ioana Murgoci

Communications Intern

I have a background in Social Sciences, specifically in International Relations, and Political Science. I completed my bachelor’s degree at Amsterdam University College where I had the opportunity to shape my own curriculum and gain a multidisciplinary background. After my bachelor’s, I completed my master’s degree at Leiden University following the advanced programme International Relations and Diplomacy.
I seek to understand the intersectionality between different fields through my work. I believe that it is important to approach issues, tasks and projects from a critical perspective, and to analyse them through a multilayered lens. The fields I am most interested in are Gender Inequality, Conflict Management, and the Climate Crisis and Climate Adaptation. I seek to incorporate these fields within my work at STIPO and Placemaking Europe.
At STIPO, I want to learn as much as I can about placemaking and its relation to various topics such as inclusiveness, art, storytelling, and urban development.
Next to my internship, I am also part of the TEDxAmsterdam Communications team.
I have a passion for coffees, and wines, so in my free time you can find me in cafes and on terraces enjoying the sun. I am very social, so I like to spend time with my friends, and plan different activities with them. This year I plan to go to as many concerts as possible, and take a deeper dive into the art world, exploring musicians, exhibitions, and different cultures.
