About STIPO | “STIPO offers an open window to a better city.”
We are an interdisciplinary team for urban development based in Amsterdam, Athens, Milan, and Warsaw. We prioritize sustainable and inclusive impact, working on projects related to area development, the city at eye level and placemaking, social innovation, sustainability, and co-creation in vision and strategy. As public developers, we take initiative to bring new ideas from strategy to action. We are the founders and core members of the international network Placemaking Europe, the knowledge program The City at Eye Level, and the Stadmakersfonds in the Netherlands. We publish books such as The City at Eye Level (international, Dutch, and kids editions) and Our City? Countering Exclusion in Public Space. We also deliver training sessions in the Netherlands and internationally.
Our team is interdisciplinary because the living environment cannot be captured by a single discipline. Our passionate team includes experts in urban planning, urban psychology, sociology, urban design, economics, political science, and culture—makers, project leaders, placemakers, consultants, researchers, doers, and managers with a love for the city.
Our approach is based on co-creation with initiators, residents, entrepreneurs, property owners, investors, governments, and knowledge partners. We combine action and reflection, theory and practice, implementation and strategy, the lived and the planned city, bottom-up and top-down approaches.
Our work spans cities, neighborhoods, regions, communities, and national and international networks. We focus on area development, the city at eye level, social innovation, and vision and strategy. We enjoy working with talented young people and involving them in our projects to provide hands-on experience.
That’s why we are looking for: TALENTED INTERNS
As an intern, you will be actively involved in our projects. Your tasks may include organizing project activities, using your content knowledge to help prepare events, conducting interviews, and building networks. You’ll collaborate with municipalities or work from our Amsterdam office. You’ll have the opportunity to gain a wide range of experiences and deepen your understanding of urban development topics.
What do we expect from you?
