Placemaking Sixhaven

In Amsterdam Noord there is a green area next to the Willemsluizen, near the Sixhaven. The Municipality of Amsterdam has made this site available for neighborhood initiatives. Residents’ initiatives have been launched and neighborhood events have been organised. In 2021 it was decided that the site may remain green and for neighborhood use for five years. STIPO has been working with local residents, initiators and other stakeholders since the spring of 2022 on the further development of this place. We are working together with the municipality on a temporary design, exploring which initiatives are appropriate, organising activities with the neighborhood and working on strengthening neighborhood networks.
