Frederique Huls

Social geographer & advisor

During her bachelor’s degree in social geography with a minor in city planning, Frederique realised that the physical urban space can not be studied without looking at the people using that space. With this in mind, she focuses on ways to keep citizens involved with the developments in their street, neighbourhood and city.

After finishing a master’s degree in inclusive and sustainable urban development, Frederique started working as an advisor here at STIPO. In her work, she strives to cooperate with residents and other local stakeholders to create fitting and long-lasting plans. For this purpose, she applies creative methods in co-creation, placemaking and interviews to come to new insights and solutions.

In her free time, Frederique likes long walks, swimming, music or a good meal. Occasionally, you’ll spot her enjoying these on her own, but preferably, she gathers as many friends and family members as is possible to share the experience.
